Next week the tech world is going to experience the awesomeness of the much awaited Windows 8. Yes Windows 8 is going to be released on 26th of October 2012. Windows 8 is first of its kind in the Windows line. Its different from what every Windows user has experienced till now. That’s why the techies are so much excited to see it in real.
Windows 8 preview releases where released a few months ago. Hope you guys have checked that. I got the first glimpse of the Windows 8 experience form the preview release. It was different. The introduction of Metro design is the first thing you will notice about the Windows 8. Metro is a design which focus more on typography and less on graphics. The start menu is replaced by a start screen.
The start screen aka the new desktop for the Windows 8, is the most important change in Windows 8. The start screen is place you use as a dashboard of all the application and the widgets. Windows 8 is build for widgets and app like you Android or iPhone device. You can download millions of apps and install it in your Windows 8 like a software. The app will have a widget for the start screen which will give you the glimpse of that app in the start screen.
Windows 8 is build for touch devices with gesture actions. This is the part I am not sure whether Windows 8 is going to be a success in desktop PCs as I didn’t feel much convenience in using it with a mouse and keyboard. But as said globally, Windows 8 is for Tablet devices.
With the introduction of Windows 8, Tablets devices got a new power to go to the mainstream computing. Windows 8 will be awesome in a Tablet device, with its new design technology Metro and the easy to use start screen.

Skoda India has launched its latest invent “Skoda Rapid” residing in the C-Segment. Skoda Rapid incorporates the same engine as added in VW Vento i.e. 1.6L petrol/diesel added with dual transmission modes (Auto/Manual).
Skoda Rapid comes in both petrol as well as the diesel variants. The diesel Skoda Rapid is powered with 1.6 litre of TDi with 1598 cc displacement unit that produces 105 PS of power along with 250 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the petrol variant of Skoda Rapid comes with 1.6 litre-1598 cc of MPI unit, which churns out 105 PS of power together with 153 Nm of torque.
Skoda Rapid comes in 8 versions with automatic/manual transmission options. Skoda Rapid price is Rs 6.75 lakh for the base variant-Skoda Rapid Active and Rs.9.20 lakh for the highend diesel variant Skoda Rapid 1.6 TDI Elegance.
Toyota has launched a new hybrid car in Japan that is aimed at the Honda Fit. The hybrid is called the Toyota Aqua in Japan and when it makes its way to the US the hybrid will be called the Prius C. The Toyota Prius C concept debuted last January at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, showcasing a “value-oriented” hybrid bound for U.S. showrooms in 2012, said Toyota at the time.
The Aqua is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 74 hp, and mated to a 45 kW electric motor. Combined output is exactly 100 hp, which is enough to push it to 100 km/h (62mph) in 10.7 seconds in combination with its CVT gearbox. Toyota said the Aqua has a fuel efficiency of 83 miles per gallon on Japan’s JC08 test cycle and 94 mpg on the official 10-15 test cycle.
In Japan, Toyota’s TRD performance division introduced sporty versions of the Aqua. The Aqua TRD features an aero body kit with front spoiler, side skirts, roof spoiler and rear apron/diffuser. Hardware upgrades are limited to lowering springs, stiffer shocks, larger alloy wheels and chrome exhaust pipes.
Toyota said the Aqua will be offered in Japan in three grades — L, S and G — with the hybrid topping out at the U.S. equivalent of $23,756.

Skoda showcased their small city car, the Citigo last month at the Frankfurt motor show. The company has now announced that they have started series production of the Citigo.
The new small car is a crucial model for Skoda as they are entering a new sector and must get everything right to secure its position in the small car market.
Engine wise, a pair of 999cc three-pot petrols are available at launch. There’s a 99mph, 59bhp 1.0-litre petrol that produces 62.8mpg and another 74bhp, 70lb ft effort that gets the Citigo to 106mph and produces 108g/km CO2. The car is 3.56 meters long, 1.65 meters wide and 1.48 meters tall. Skoda has integrated Head-Thorax side airbags to protect the heads of the front passengers in the event of a crash. The Citigo also comes with Bosch’s new Long-range Radar Sensor to help prevent collisions below 30 km/h. The car will be made available in its home market of the Czech Republic by the end of this year. The three door version of the Citigo will be available as of this year and the five door version will debut early next year in 2012.

Yamaha India has finally launched the R15 Version 2.0, which is the second iteration of the racing bikes from the Japanese automaker. The tyres are now wider both at the front. The front is now 90 section, while the rear are much wider 130 section. The rear has been completely redesigned and now features an all new tail with LED brake lights and R125 inspired design. The company claims a mileage of 45 kmpl on the new machine.
The all-new BMW 3-series was revealed at a special event in Munich. The car is codenamed as the F30 for BMW’s internal processes. BMW clearly wanted to bring the design of the new 3 Series more in-line with the look of its other new cars, mainly the 5, 6 and 7 Series. To that end, the most visible difference is up front, where the car’s nose has grown in size.
The car is planned to be shown off at the Detroit motor show early next year and it is safe to expect Indian sales of the new 3 to commence a few months after right-hand-drive versions are developed and made available towards the middle of 2012. We should have the 2012 BMW 3 series at an expected price range of INR 21-35 lakh.
