Bradicon is a free application that will create an icon from an image you choose. using Bradicon you can create an icon from your favorite images file. You can create an icon for your website, your application, icons for your programs. This tool is free and easy to use. Its an online application. All you have to do is to go to their site and upload the image file you want to convert to Icon. It will process and give back the icon file of that image file.
There is no mention of which image formats are supported, we tried with JPEG images and it worked fine. Bradicon is a good alternative to create icons and worth a try.
