Google’s Monopoly Must Be Stopped
When Google launched its first homepage on the year 1996 it was not expected to be a such revolution in web world. Now 95 % of web activity happens on Google related sites. At first Google was just a Web Search Engine. But today its not the case. Everything is in Google. Gmail, Orkut, Adwords, Adsense, Blogger, Webmasters, Google Doc … never ends the list of services provided by Google. The main advantage of Google’s services is that its free. Last week Google introduced its new service, Google Browser – Google Chrome. Google’s all services can be used with a single Google account. If we are talking about the plus points of the Google then its never going to end.
All those are facts, but even though we have to think the other side too. There is great danger in it. Now Google provides almost every essential services for a web user. starting from search engine to webmasters. if on a pleasant morning think of Google was down you cant even do anything on web even though you are connected to web. you can’t access your e-mail, you cant search the web, you can’t even send a chat message. As a web user I too like Google very much. I love Google. But this is a fact that all should remember while we encourage Google.
Another hidden danger in using Google services is that every data is handled by Google and only Google. any security issues that affect Google will affect all its users. if everyone is using Google that security breech in Google database will affect your data too.
Google is a private company, trusting a private company may be good. But giving the ultimate power of web to a private compny is a fatal mistake. Google can be trusted. But we can’t trust anything beyond the limit.
