Yamaha all set for a manly bike – “FZ 15″
Yamaha is always different in making bikes…..it is exactly clear from the past bikes which yamaha had released…..Here the FZ 15 is also coming under the yamaha family…it is actually a manly bike…when we see the bike …we can name it as a naked bike….it is good in all the directions….Also so many technologies are being imparted on this bike also…..they are:
Another most awaited launch of the year in the two-wheeler segment and a potential volume spinner for Yamaha, the FZ 15′s media launch happened on Saturday, 14th September in Goa. The commerical launch will happen in the festive season of October after which the bike will go on sale throughout the country.
The FZ 15 is a naked sportsbike which gets its DNA from global FZ’s series of Yamaha motorcycles. Fat tyre at the rear, beefy tank, beefy front fork compliment the FZ 15’s muscular character, which is all set to become a huge hit among the young crowd in India. The bike isnt short on technology too with monoshock suspension at the rear, analogue digital tacho and speedometer and advanced chassis which is stiff as well as light at the same time.
The engine is tuned for low and mid-range torque than top end rush unlike the YZF R15 where serious actions starts above 6000 rpm in a classic Yamaha sportsbike fashion.
Speculations surrounding the bike also suggest a hike in the engine capacity to 160cc which is highly unlikely since the bike was shown in the Auto Expo 2008 as a 150cc. Go through our review of the bike here.

The bike gets its looks from the global FZ series known for awesome looks and tremendous power. Everything about this bike is big, the wide tyres, the huge tank, the beefy forks. Viewed side on it looks like a well built athelete on the start line flexing its muscles, waiting to smash all the records.
The engine will be a 150cc air cooled unit but tuned for low and mid range torque than top end rush, so expect this to be an effortless performer. Coming from Yamaha, expect top class finish and highest quality cycle parts.
And the looks, well it will make every bike in the country go hide behind the curtains.
