Honda Siel Cars, Premium car makers in  India launched the third generation model of its popular  ‘City’  in Mumbai on Wednesday. The new generation city is priced between Rs.815,000 and Rs.942,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), the new Honda city comes with 1.5-litre, four cylinder new i-VTEC engine.Honda city launched in three different versions with automatic and manual transmissions.

Honda president and chief executive Masahiro Takedagawa said Honda City was one of the most successful car brands in the Asian markets. “With this launch, India will become the largest market for Honda City,” he added. Prior to its launch in Mumbai, the new City model was introduced in Thailand and Delhi.

The third-generation City, to be available in six colours, comes with two-plus-two years’ warranty. With the introduction of the new machine, the parent company will put brakes on the second generation of Honda City, currently on the Indian roads.
Takedagawa said that the company was planning to add a small car in its portfolio that would be smaller than its existing hatchback Jazz.”The new small car was being developed with global requirements in mind as rising crude price was driving people more towards smaller cars with better mileage,” he added.

The all-new Third Generation Honda City is a completely new car from the series. The only commonality between the new car and its predecessor is the nomenclature. The Third generation Honda City is now poised to move from an Asian car model to a more global market. Honda intends on targeting several new markets with the new City and that would also lead to the fact as to why the new car is wider, longer, more powerful and more equipped in terms of active and passive safety features when compared to its predecessor.
