New Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W170

15

Sony has intorduced a new digital camera, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W170, which is having some of the very appealing features that may win over
the minds of various  people. This new digital camera is little bit pricey, with a value of about $ 250 attached to it.

Sony Cyber-shot35 DSC-W170 offers a 10-megapixel sensor and a pleasing wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens with 5X optical zoom, while the front of the camera is simple and shiny, dominated by the seemingly gigantic Carl Zeiss lens, the back is a bit cluttered with buttons and dials.

It is notable that the 5X optical zoom in this digital camera is somewhat a bit above average for cameras of this class. Another notable feature in the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W170 is the smile detection, which you can apply in adult or child priority modes. This feature keeps the shutter from firing until your subject smiles, and it works quite well.

Pluses

* Flash intensity is adjustable

* Camera is excellent in low light settings, rendering natural-looking skin tones.

* Camera more responsive, with no shutter lag

* Zoom toggle switch is easy to use2

* Features a good battery life, can have 310 shots on a single battery charge

* It can shoot 640-by-480-resolution video at 30 fps

* This features optical image-stabilization and a dynamic range setting in order to provide more details in shadowed areas.

Minuses4

* It’s overall image-quality rating poor and it is lagging behind competing point-and-shoot cameras in sharpness and general image quality.

* The lens is quick to focus, but you cannot zoom while shooting video.

Since, Sony is considered to be a top class brand in the market, and due to the brand value they possess, much more was expected from their new digital camera Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W170, which miserably fails at some features of it.

Anyway, this new product from Sony is definitely a watchable one.

Motorola Introduced MOTO QA30 Alltel QWERTY slider

motorola_moto_qa30_1Motorola introduced their new phone with Qwerty slider MOTO QA30.Some people may like the QWERTY keyboard offered by the Motorola Q9h, but they don’t like how it has a relatively large footprint. Motorola appears to be addressing this concern with the Motorola QA30, the company’s first QWERTY slider phone.

With squared-off looks reminiscent of the LG Lotus, only in a slider format, details of the Motorola MOTO QA30 have emerged.  Bearing Alltel branding, the QWERTY-blessed handset is CDMA 1xEVDO with stereo Bluetooth 2.0 and a 2.5-inch 320 x 240, 65k color display.

motorola_moto_qa30_2As well as messaging, with both threaded SMS/MMS, email and IM supported, there’s a full HTML browser and Facebook access.  The QA30 should do well as a media player, too, with a standard 3.5mm headphone socket, microSD slot content with cards up to 32GB and USB 2.0 to shuffle all your music across.

A 2-megapixel camera rounds out the known specifications. Predictions of price are low, what with this being a feature-phone rather than a smartphone; there’s no precise word on release date, but some anonymous Alltel staff are claiming that dummy phones are already showing up in stores.

Other specifications include EVDO, 2.5-inch QVGA display, threaded messaging, HTML browser, email access, IM, 3.5mm headset jack, stereo Bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera, and microSDHC support up to 32GB.

Nokia N96 Brief Review

It is becoming more and more difficult for current manufacturers to put a unique mobile phone into the market. Many cell phones are equal when it comes to their functionality, and there are only minor differences between current models and their successors. Unlike a few years ago, when mobile phones were gradually taking on more functionalities of other devices. These new models definitely made a difference at the time. The Nokia N95 brought fame to Nokia, which eventually resulted in the N95 8GB version. For now, we are curious as to what Nokia is offering us with the new N96. They released a Nokia N96 Bruce Lee Limited Edition Phones.

Nokia N96 multimedia phone review

The Nokia N96 features a beautiful monitor. It is a 2.8 inch QVGA LCD TFT monitor with a maximum of 16 million colors. The monitor is bright and clear. The cell phone features an option to rotate the monitor automatically upon rotating the handset, which is ever so convenient when using the mobile television function. Rotating is not always completely fluent, which is a pity whilst it are these little things that make a phone just that tad less appealing.

Nokia N96 test – Mobile internet

The default Internet browser inside Symbian software is familiar from previous models and works the same way. The large monitor and the fast HSDPA connection possibility make the N96 perfectly suitable for using the Internet. In addition to the use of the Internet through the network, it is also possible to connect a wireless network via WiFi. If WiFi is activated, the available networks are clearly indicated.

Nokia N96 review

The Nokia N96 phone is a long-awaited promising mobile phone of the Nokia brand. The internal memory of 16GB, the 5.0 Megapixel digital camera, FM radio, GPS receiver, HSDPA and of course, the mobile television function, make the Nokia N96 a fully equipped device.

How To Play Music On Your Nintendo DS

Though Nintendo’s revamped DSi has been out  since the start of November,211 most of the people won’t get to enjoy its new features-including a slimmer profile, a VGA camera, and music playback via internal memory or an SD Card-until “well into 2009″.

But though we don’t necessarily condone it, the reality is that geeky gamers have long enjoyed music playback on the Nintendo DS. One method of doing so is to use MoonShell, a homebrew media player that supports MP3, Ogg Vorbis, and AAC files (the DSi supports only AAC).

To use MoonShell, you’ll need the hard-to-find Revolution for DS (aka R4)-an unofficial cartridge used for hacking the Nintendo DS handheld game machine. The  is a Slot-1 cartridge that reads data from removable microSD cards.

* Pop your microSD card into the provided USB card reader, insert it in        your PC’s USB port, and update the software (currently v1.18).
* Download and install Moonshell.
* With SD card still mounted, copy music files into the root directory of      the card.
* Eject the USB drive, put the SD card back into the 22R4. Power on, open up Moonshell, and pick a song!
* For more information on DS homebrew and storage devices, visit the Nintendo DS Homebrew Wikipedia page.

Currently, the new changes in the new version aren’t terribly compelling. For starters, DSi will have a shorter battery life compared to DS Lite and will sell for a higher price- $179 as opposed to $129. Finally, the DSi will no longer be compatible with Slot-2 games or devices, such as GBA games or Guitar Hero: On Tour

Canon’s bucket-shaped Selphy CP770

Canon’s bucket-shaped Selphy CP770 is definitely a watch out product from them. This self-contained snapshot printer is cute and easy to tote, which makes up111 somewhat for other shortcomings.

The “lid” of the bucket is the printer, which you lift out to use. The bucket’s partitioned sections hold accessories. If you really want to use it on the go, you’ll need the optional battery pack ($80) or a Bluetooth adapter costs ($50).Though the Selphy CP770′s dye-sublimation technology works fine, it’s a bit complicated and seems wasteful.

The ink cartridge contains a roll of film infused with successive sections of cyan, magenta, and yellow, plus a fourth layer consisting of a clear, protective coating. You use one layer of each color per print, regardless of how much color the image actually users. Canon has no recycling program yet for these cartridges.121

The paper works disconcertingly, too. Dedicated cassettes take a single size of paper each. The paper moves through the printer four times, extending several inches out the back and the front during each pass and thus seeming to invite premature grabbing of the print. Postcard- and businesscard-size cassettes are included. A greetingcard kit containing 4-by-8-inch paper and envelopes (24 of each), ink, and a cassette costs $33.

It’s not surprising that the Selphy CP770 is one of the slowest snapshot printers we’ve tested. It took well over a minute to print each sample. A yellowish palette adversely affected some images, especially landscapes.
The printer ships with trial-size ink and postcard paper supplies that last 5 pages each. A kit containing postcard paper and an ink cartridge for 108 prints costs $30, which works out to 29 cents per print. The 36-print kit is relatively expensive at $12, or 33 cents per print.

The chief reason to buy the Selphy CP770 is for the fun factor. Though the dye-sublimation technology produces a decent print, it’s too slow and plastic-intensive for me to recommend over other kinds of printing. So all in all, Choose this model only if its looks mean more to you than its overall performance, which is merely adequate.

The value of the product is around $120.95
