Windows automatic updates are very annoying for those who are in India, as they are charged for the data transfer. If windows automatic updates are set to ON, windows will automatically update its latest security updates,  xp updates and hotfix. You can turn the windows automatic updates off by following the simple intruction given below.

1. To turn of your automatic update feature go to the Windows Security Center ( In Control Panel) .
2. Click on the automatic updates

   

3. On window comes you can see four options that you can select as your wish.

If you select the second Option ‘Download updates for me, but let me chose when to install them’, posses no practical difference from the first option ‘Automatic’. But the third option is the best I think that when there is an update available windows will notify about the available updates to us. and we can select which all updates should be downloaded and installed.The fourth option turn off the complete updates.
