New Western Digital My Passport Studio with FireWire 800

western-digital-my-passport-studio-with-firewire-800Western Digital, the veterans among the Harddisk Makers, announced their new My Passport Studio external hard drive that comes with FireWire 800 high speed interface. WD’s My Passport Studio now supports FireWire 400/800 and USB interfaces. Western Digital’s new harddisk is available up to 500GB of storage capacity. The main feature of the My Passport Studio  comes with built-in, illuminated capacity gauge tells users how much space is available in the drive.

The My Passport Studio comes formatted HFS+ Journaled for use with Mac and users can easily reformatted for Windows PCs. It supports Apple’s Time Machine application.

It should be available at select retailers and at WD’s online store. The 500GB version cost about $249.99 while the 400GB My Passport Studio is priced at $229.99.

My Passport Studio portable drive includes the following features:
