Dell launched their new laptop in India

World’s one of the largest laptop manufacturer’s Dell have launched their new Mini 12 in India. The Mini 12 is ideal for web-savvy students and business executives who’re looking for a slim netbook.

It measures under 1.1-inch and is just 0.2 inch thicker than it’s major competitors MacBook Air and VooDoo Envy. The major thing to be noted is that this new laptop will run under Windows XP instead of  the famous Windows Vista. It is also hearing that Dell may offer the Ubuntu version of the Mini 12 in India.

The major features of this new Dell Mini 12 laptop is that it is provided with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530, and has a 533MHz FSB, a Intel US15W chipset, and a 1GB DDR2 533MHz and 80GB 4200RPM HDD. This new laptop will be available with 2 different series, first one with a 3 cell battery that will last for about 3 hours and the second one with a 6 cell battery that will last for about 6.5 hours.

This new laptop will also feature a WiFi (802.11b/g), a 1.3 megapixel webcam, and Bluetooth. As a special gift Dell will offer an online storage of 2 GB on Box.net to every Mini 12 buyer. Dell has not revealed anything about the price tag of this new laptop and it is expected to reach the Indian markets by the end of this month.
