Google Wave: Schools and Businesses to Get an Early Look
Way back in May, Google announced Google Wave at its Google I/O conference and since then, the potential game-changing aspects of the new communication platform have left developers and excited users in a frenzy.
On September 30th, 100,000 Google Wave invites will go out to users who want to start to test the waters, so to speak. But, if you’re a Google Apps user, you might be able to get a sneak peek even earlier.
Today, The Google Enterprise Blog announced that it is opening up Google Wave to some schools and businesses that use Google Apps as part of its fall preview. Although not all Google Apps users will get in on the fun right now, Google hopes to bring Google Wave to all Apps users next year. If you’re a Google Apps administrator, you can sign-up for Google Wave testing here.

The video above from Google I/O gives a little bit of a visual overview of what Google Wave is and what has the potential to do. Since the basis of Google Wave is redefining and streamlining conversation and content sharing, Google Apps users — especially businesses and schools that use Google Apps for their domain — are ideal candidates to take advantage and test some of Google Wave’s features.
