Twitter accounts hacked by adult webcam spam

Reportedly, 750 of Twitter accounts have been hacked by a malicious adult webcam site that has been sending tweets that direct Twitter account users to the pornographic site.
Messages like “hey! 23/Female. Come chat with me on my webcam thingy here www.chatwebcamfree.com” have been spamming the Twitter accounts.
“Obviously we recommend against clicking on this link, it leads to a porn Webcam portal which looks to have been designed with credit card harvesting in mind,” said security Rik Ferguson of TrendMicro, reports Cnet. “Affected users should change their password to a secure one as soon as possible.”
Twitter too, on its blog has suggested users to change their passwords to the ones which are really strong. It has also reset the passwords of the compromised accounts and removed the “spammy updates” and has put its safety team to the job of investigation, says Biz Stone, Twitter co-founder, in the blog.
The Twitter hacking seem to have taken place at 11 a.m. PST, two hours after which 750 accounts were found to be affected.
