WordPress 3.0 Beta released

3rd Apr, 2010 | 1 Comment | Posted in Wordpress by Alex Jose

WordPress has released the first beta version of upcoming WordPress 3.0. As expected, there are lots of new features being added to version 3.0. You can download the beta version and test drive the new features. Make sure that you install the beta version on a test database as this is not a stable release. There are quite a few new features like custom menus, new Twenty Ten WordPress theme and many more.

The big announcement of this release though is the merger of WordPress and WordPress MU (multi-user), a fork of WordPress that allows multiple blogs to be operated from one installation. In WordPress 3.0, these two are fully merged, although you should probably read the instructions before taking this feature out for a test drive.

You can download the WordPress 3.0 and take it for a test drive for yourself.

Its a very early release. WordPress itself pointed some bugs in this release. So everyone should use this release only on the test database.
