Satellite can calculate driving speed-“SpeedSpike”

This is a satellite based system which helps to calculate the average speed of vehicle traveling from one point to another. The satellite is also able to capture the vehicles number plate using the camera embedded  inside the satellite. this system will be assisted by the traffic cameras which are placed on the streets. The main feature is that it can work in all the weather conditions. It uses GPS also.

It was developed by American-owned Company PIPS Technology based in England.

This new technology is called SpeedSpike.

This is currently being tested in London’s Southwark and in parts of Cornwall.

‘Heterodyne Light Field Camera’ solution for out of focus images

Does your camera shots are going out of focus…?? Don’t worry here is a new technology that automatically re-focuses the image.

Out of focusing is the main problem of photographs so that they miss most beautiful shots. In order to help them Scientists at Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs announced a new technology which automatically re focuses the out of focused images. These cameras are called Heterodyne Light Field Camera.  In this camera after image is captured refocusing is possible.

How this cameras actually working??

In this there will be a mask is placed in between the lens and the sensor .this mask is transparent and there is some patterns printed on it. The Patten is made of 7 rows and 7 columns.

Using this users can take normal photos but.  After a photo is taken suppose if it is out of focus for example if we focus on a flower after taking the photo if the flower is not focused and the background is focused using these mask and the post-processing software MERL researchers are able to refocus the image.

Drawback of this heterodyne light field camera is that they only works in select situations.
