Windows Phone 7 Mango Releasing on September 1

Microsoft’s major update to Windows Phone 7, codenamed Mango will be releasing next month. Reports from insider sources claim that the update will be released starting September 1.

A major factor for such an early release is so that it can coincide with IFA, which is the largest consumer electronics show in Europe. The event will take place from September 2-7 in Berlin, where Windows Phone 7 manufacturers such as Samsung, Acer, ZTE, and LG will be able to unveil their new Mango devices.

Nokia’s first Windows Phone 7 handsets will not be among this early batch. Instead, its Mango devices are expected to debut at the Nokia World event in October. The first of its offerings has already been leaked as a device codenamed “Sea Ray” that looks very similar to the N9 MeeGo handset.

HTC Bliss, An Android Phone for Ladies

HTC has decided to introduce a different kind of Android smartphone specifically tailored to the female demographic and it’s called the HTC Bliss.

The HTC Bliss is expected to run Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with HTC Sense 3.5 running on top. Supposedly, custom feminine wallpapers will be preloaded along with other female-oriented apps. It should have a Qualcomm processor, rear-facing camera, and support for Bluetooth and WiFi. It’s expected for Verizon this September, but will not be a 4G LTE handset.

Nokia N9 MeeGo Phone will be released on September 23

Not long back RockingTeam has published some aritcles about the upcoming smart phone from Nokia called Nokia N9 MeeGo. Today Nokia revealed that at least Sweden will get the Nokia N9 in 48 days. For now no other country got a release countdown on the Nokia N9 microsite.

HTC Omega & HTC Eternity – Windows Phone 7.5 Mango

HTC is getting ready with the HTC Omega & HTC Eternity. Latest reports says HTC Omega & Eternity will be Windows Phone 7.5. HTC Eternity will have 4.7-inch AMOLED screen. The rear camera is 8MP wide-angle unit with LED flash. The smartphone is also said to have DLNA compatibility and micro HDMI output.

The HTC Omega has a smaller 3.8-inch SLCD screen. It seems to have the same 8MP wide-angle camera with LED flash and it packs in DLNA support too.

Samsung Galaxy S II Official Live Demo [Video]

Samsung has just come out with an official live demo for the Galaxy S II. The Samsung Galaxy S II is a 4.3-inches Super AMOLED Plus phone. Galaxy S II is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 2GB of ROM and Android 2.3.3.

The Galaxy S II also features an 8-megapixels camera as main camera is capable of shooting Full HD 1080p video at 30fps, the front-facing camera is, at 2-megapixels. They’re joined by the usual accelerometer, g-sensor, GPS/A-GPS and digital compass. Two Galaxy S II SKUs will be offered, one with 16GB of internal storage – of which just over 11GB is available to the user – and another with 32GB. Each can handle up to a 32GB microSDHC memory card. Connectivity includes quadband GSM and quadband HSPA (850/900/1900/2100), Bluetooth 3.0+HS and WiFi a/b/g/n.

iPhone 4 to Hit Indian Markets on May 12th

Good news to all Apple iPhone lovers in India. The much awaited iPhone 4 is ready to hit the Indian mobile markets. It is supposed to release on May 12th.  Only the GSM edition of iPhone 4 will be launched here.

Airtel and Aircel will be the ones who will be selling the iPhone 4. Airtel has already a large coverage for their 3G network.

The pricing factor is not yet published. Speculations says the price will be high since the device itself is costly and the service providers have paid too much 3G license.

Windows Phone Mango (WP 7.5) Updates Revealed

Microsoft is all set to release the next major update for its mobile operating system Windows Phone. The new version is codenamed Windows Phone Mango with version number 7.5. The details of the updates are spreading over the web. The new release will have several updates in features.

 

The major updates will include improved multitasking and some augmented reality features. Bing Audio, Bing Vision and turn-by-turn voice directions will be new features in the WP 7.5. Bing Audio helps you search for specific songs by letting the phone hear whatever song is being played. This feature sounds very similar to Shazam or SoundHound. Even though it would be simple to simply download an app with similar features from the Windows Phone Marketplace, integrating it the Windows Phone operating system draws users into the Windows Phone ecosystem even more.
