Dell, the leading global systems and services company, today unveiled two new Dell Vostro Laptops and two desktops, specifically designed to meet the needs of small businesses, governments and educational institutions operating on limited budgets in India and the world’s emerging economies.
The Dell Vostro A860 is a 15.6 inch laptop equipped for handling everyday business tasks while the Dell Vostro A840 is a 14.1 inch laptop that offers practical technology for the mobile business computing.
In Desktops, Dell Vostro A180 mini tower is a practical desktop solution for everyday business computing while Dell Vostro A100 is an entry level destktop deisgned for basic business productivity.
The products which are “primary channel partner products” would be available through authorised channel partners as well as direct from Dell in India and more than 20 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America.
“Within the world’s emerging economies, such as India, millions of new busineses are demanding just the technology they need, at the prices they can afford, from a vendor they can trust”, said Steve Felice President, Dell Asia-Pacific Japan at Beijing conference that was webcast in Bangalore.
The greatest challenges facing small business was the prohibitive cost of technology, especially mobility, product reliability and quality, finding solutions that are easy to set up and maintain and accessible support and services.
According to IDC, there are more than 72 million small business worldwide with 23.4 million, nearly one third of the global total located in Asia Pacific (excluding Japan).
Dell did not see inflation or economic slowdown impacting its business as businesses turned to IT for productive gains.
The firm is expected to roll more products this year.
