Most of the days Google introduce new doodle in their homepage. Michael Lopez, Web Design Lead at Google, says that it usually takes 1-2 days to design a doodle and that Google’s homepage is “the biggest little canvas an artist can display their artwork on”.

Here are some of the recent Google doodles :

Oct 15, 2009 Mikhail Lermontov's Birthday - (Russia)

Oct 14, 2009 Teacher's Day - (Poland)

Oct 10, 2009 Giuseppe Verdi's Birthday - (Italy)

Oct 02, 2009 Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday - (Selected Countries)

Google doodles, the drawings that are designed on, around and through the Google logo on our home page, have long been part of Google’s history. As a Google intern in 2000, Google Webmaster Dennis Hwang began celebrating and marking worldwide events and holidays with doodles. Since then, the work of the doodle team has been seen by millions and reached cult status, with fans waiting with bated breath to see the next creation on the Google homepage.

To see a gallery of Google doodles, check this page. Many of the doodles are only displayed in certain countries, so you should subscribe to Google’s feed if you don’t want to miss some doodles.
