LG Watch Mobile Phone

The new watch phone from LG is one of the coolest gadgets at the CES 2009 show.

At a press event today, LG USA President Michael Ahn showed a working demo of the device. It’s a surprisingly slim watch that has a touchscreen phone, 3G and Bluetooth capabilities. It also has a camera that can take photos and small videos.

Worn on the wrist, the phone looks like any ordinary watch displaying the time but when a call comes in, the screen changes. Just raise your hand a little closer to your mouth, press a button and you can talk into the watch through the speakerphone capability.

The watch phone is expected to go into production mid-year though the company did not offer any details on pricing.

CrunchPad – New Device To Browse Internet

CrunchPad is a device developed by TechCrunch. TechCrunch released a prototype of this product. CrunchPad is a device working in linux base. It boots directly into a web browser.

This is how TechCrunch define CrunchPad

a very thin and light touch screen computer, sans physical keyboard, that has no hard drive and boots directly to a browser to surf the web. The operating system exists solely to handle the hardware drivers and run the browser and associated applications. That’s it.

The latest prototype has managed to be shrunk down in thickness from previous models and now measures 18mm. This is thanks to an aluminium case which allows it to be sturdier then the previous plastic as well as shave off a fraction off the previous model too.

USB Pen Drives in Transformers Theme

This month new Transformers movie Revenge Of The Fallen will be released. Along with the movie some cool gadgets are also available in the market with the theme of the movie. The one i saw is a USB pen drive. The flash drive is capable of transforming in to Ravage who was a pet robot of Soundwave. Soundwave was a robot that transformed in to a cassette player and the cassettes inside also transformed in to various creatures, Ravage being one of them. The problem these days with this thinking is that nobody uses cassettes any more which makes using a USB flash drive the perfect alternative.

Transformers drive comes with a memory of 2GB at a cost of $42. It will work with Windows OS as well as Mac.
